I want to create imagery in moments that feel like you. With the utmost intention in everything I do, this experience should feel like yours.

Pour a glass of wine and stay a while, won't you?

I pulled up to what seemed like a very sweet woman’s house. A bungalow if you will. It had such a pleasant color – sunset orange with a mint door. I wasn’t even sure if what I pulled up to was the right place for a vintage rentals storefront, but the moment I knocked on the door and Becky welcomed me in, I knew it was perfect.

Becky welcomed me in with open arms, and her sweet smile filled the house turned vintage warehouse with warm vibes. It was great to see her again after our ambitious Vintage Lux Styled Shoot earlier that year. The first thing I saw were the well taken care of vintage sofa and chairs we used placed on old wooden floors. My favorite chair had floral pink and sherbet orange florals with mint leaves. It looked just as inviting, and I couldn’t wait to take a seat.

Of course she gave me the grand tour, and minutes after embracing her new place, we took a seat at the front of her place on a sofa and chair, surrounded by tea sets and things just moved in. She felt like an old friend and someone you could tell everything to. She made me feel so incredibly comfortable that I would bet every bride that has worked with her must have felt the same. The more she talked, the more I realized what she was about and the inspiration and the driving force behind her business. Her collectibles, her vintage pieces, were mere ingredients to a recipe she could whip up at any given time, at any given event. Her passion as she kept talking, resonated with me, and I knew styling an event with her pieces was the most important part to her and about her business.

1. Tell me about your company.

Tufted is a vintage rental and event design company offering a variety of unique vintage and handcrafted pieces for weddings and other events. We have everything from upholstered seating to vintage china. We offer design and styling services to bring the clients vision to life, whether it is the entire event or a single lounge area. We offer custom searches, delivery/pickup and set up/tear down.

2. Where does your inspiration come from?

Our clients! I love hearing about each brides vision for her big day and determining together how our vintage elements fit into the grand scheme. Each client brings their own style and ideas to the table and I love seeing the end result! I also draw inspiration from blogs, storefronts, fashion and anything around me that catches my eye and makes me pause.

3. How did you get your start in the rentals business?

I have always had a love for vintage and antiques as well as design. When I began planning my own wedding I knew I wanted to incorporate vintage furniture and elements to compliment some of my own pieces. Once I started researching I learned that there were successful vintage rental companies out there and a light bulb went off! It was the perfect way to merge my love for design and vintage. I began collecting pieces for our wedding and have been adding to it ever since!

4. What is one piece of advice you can give engaged couples?

Ask your vendors for vendor recommendations. I think brides can feel overwhelmed by the amount of vendors and vendor resources out there. I don’t think brides or clients in general realize how closely us vendors work together. So feel free to ask the vendors you have booked for personal references and then narrow down the scope of options.

5. What keeps you passionate about weddings?

I love being part of a something as monumental as a wedding day! I love hearing from couples and witnessing their excitement. I am truly honored that my clients choose us to be a part of their big day and use our collection of vintage awesomeness to showcase and express their individual styles.

6. How far in advance should couples book your services?

Sooner is better especially if they would like us to source or create a piece that we don’t already have in our collection.  Booking early allows the client to have first pick for item selection from our collection. If their date is already booked, they have less options.  That said, I’ve had clients book our services just a few weeks before the event.
