I want to create imagery in moments that feel like you. With the utmost intention in everything I do, this experience should feel like yours.

Pour a glass of wine and stay a while, won't you?

i'm KÉra

This wedding at the Clementine in Nashville, TN. is classic, traditional and charming. When I first moved to Nashville, I lived two blocks away from the Clementine and I knew one day I’d be photographing a wedding there. Two years later, that became and reality when Micaela and Gordon hired me to tell their love story.

Now, y’all know I LOVE a good love story, and Micaela and Gordon’s love story is truly meant for the movies. It goes a little something like this …

On a plane traveling from Chicago to Nashville, two strangers strike up a conversation.

Gordon noticed this cute girl with big, blonde hair on his flight and knew he had to talk to her. He struck up conversation while they were deplaning. As Gordon puts it, “some lame convo starter while we waited for our luggage.”

Micaela remembers thinking he was handsome, but she didn’t read into the interaction much more than that. But then they started chatting each week while they saw each other in the airport as they boarded their flights to/from Nashville and Chicago.

Gordon noticed they had immediate chemistry and something deep in his heart told him she was special. He texted his mom and had to tell her about this cute girl on his flight each week and how she really stood out – Gordon’s mom referred to her as ‘Airport Girl.’

A few months after that first interaction, Micaela’s project ended and she stopped traveling to Nashville for work. They ended up losing track of each other, but little did they know, God was just getting started.

3 YEARS LATER, amid the 2020 pandemic, face masks, and social distancing, Gordon spots that same big, blonde hair at his local Chicago grocery store and he knows its Airport Girl. He can hear the Lord saying “go talk to her!”

Y’all think it’s bold for a stranger to approach you mid-Pandemic with a mask on?? MICAELA DID TOO. But Gordon walked up to her, and said, “sorry to bother you, but did you used to fly American Airlines to Nashville a few years ago? You look familiar.” She was floored! Who is this cute stranger!?

Gordon says, “Was it a bold move? Eh, maybe because she also had AirPods in and looked like she was in the zone, but I wasn’t letting her get away again! I already made that mistake back in 2017 on our flight. She smiled (under the mask), we got to chatting, and talked for 20 minutes in the middle of the produce section.”

They had a great conversation just catching up right next to the avocados. He asked for her number and said they should keep in touch. Micaela left so excited!

Gordon says, “I was on cloud nine leaving the store and didn’t play it cool – I texted her that night. We’ve been dating ever since. I get to spend the rest of my life with that cute girl and her big, blonde hair!”

It is unreal being able to witness to Micaela and Gordon’s wedding. Knowing how they met and how God worked in their lives — It’s amazing. The notion of fate and what could be. How one day we see or meet someone and 3 or 4 years later (me and my hubby), end up dating that person and eventually marrying them! Nothing is impossible 🙂
