Kelsey reached out to me in May to find out how I could be the photographer for her and Eric’s elopement at Toccoa Falls. * immediately googles Toccoa Falls * — all I could think was, YES and how can we make this happen? From our first phone call, I knew Kelsey was my ideal client. She was hard working and about to graduate with your doctorate and spoke so highly of Eric and their relationship. But not only that, she truly wanted the day to be about their love. It made the idea of eloping perfect for them.
Toccoa Falls is tucked away in the small campus of Toccoa Falls College. At first, I wondered if I made a wrong turn, but the falls are in fact a hidden gem away from the main campus. I arrived early and waited to make the walk with Kelsey, who was hiding in the back of Eric’s truck so he didn’t see her as they drove to the falls 😂 I honestly love how committed they both were for an authentic and real first look!
When they arrived, we let the officiant and Eric walk ahead of us and Kelsey and I walked up a few minutes later where they would see each other fully dressed for the first time. It was such a sweet moment. Eric, so happy, as Kelsey gave him the biggest hug. You could feel their energy radiating through air — I was loving these moments as much as them.
After their ceremony, we perused around the falls and Kelsey ended up bare foot as she prepared to climb the rocks. A true elopement is dirty feet and full hearts.
