I had the best time capturing Mackenzie and Dirk’s intimate downtown Franklin engagement session! Truly, I don’t think I’ll ever get over these two and their vision. Mackenzie and Dirk knew they wanted to have their engagement photos taken in their beloved downtown Franklin neighborhood because this area holds so much significance and meaning to them. This is where they had their first date, purchased their first home, and became engaged and so we knew it would be a fun and meaningful experience to capture each milestone in their relationship during our session together.

Intimate Downtown Franklin Engagement

Their cozy home nestled in the heart of downtown Franklin served as the backdrop for the beginning of their engagement session. I loved capturing them in the comfort of their home, snuggling on the couch, playing a record, and sharing a glass of wine. The moment I walked in I could tell Mackenzie and Dirk didn’t just have a house together, but a home; a place where they could be themselves and savor the quiet moments. Being at their home also allowed us to include their two sweet pups into their session and I love how sweetly they all snuggled on the couch together.

From their home, we headed to Gray’s on Main. This former pharmacy turned restaurant and bar is the very spot where the couple shared their first date; Dirk choosing this location because Mackenzie is a pharmacist. This thoughtful gesture speaks volumes about their love and Dirk’s attention to detail. I love that we were able to revisit this special place where their love story started and provide them with images that they will treasure for years to come.

A Romantic Sunset

Our final destination led us to the historic Harlinsdale farm, where nature painted a stunning backdrop. Though we had to wait for the rain to pass, it was well worth it! As the rain cleared, a magnificent yellow sunset greeted us, bathing the surroundings in a golden glow. The serene beauty of the farm along with the setting sun provided the perfect ending to their intimate engagement session.

Mackenzie and Dirk’s genuine and sweet nature radiated throughout their engagement session. Although they started the day a little nervous, it only took a few minutes for them to grow comfortable. Their living room served as a place of comfort for hugs and kisses, and the camera became a silent witness to the beautiful connection they shared. Combining digital and film photography allowed us to slow down and savor each of those fleeting moments, encapsulating the authenticity and tenderness of their love story around the downtown Franklin area that they love.
