In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session | The Oates Family

The arrival of a newborn is always a momentous occasion for any family. Maggie and Ryder made their star debut to their sweet family a little early. I was honored to be one of the first to photograph them, earth side, for their in-Home lifestyle newborn session.  

Our session began in the morning in the comforts of their new home. The babies were content, wrapped in the arms of mom and dad, who were a previous couple of mine. I captured their gorgeous Ravenswood Mansion Wedding the December before. As new parents, you would expect for there to be some sort of learning curve, but they were naturals! They are such amazing parents, handling everything with ease. You could sense their deep love as a family in all those genuine, tender moments they shared throughout the session. Alex’s mother was also there, attending to their needs, while also being an amazing assistant when the babies would cry or just needed to be changed. 

In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session

In-home sessions are wonderful, especially for newborn portraits. There is something about the comfort and calmness that comes with being in your own home. It also allows for everything to be within reach, which we all know is important when caring for a newborn – you never know what they might need! The Oates Family’s home was the perfect place to capture the warmth and love between this sweet new family as they spent the morning snuggled in bed and soaking in the warm sunlight from the window. The babies were quiet and comfortable, making our session relaxed and easy.

Sweet Maggie, in her pink bow headband, was wide awake most of the session, while little Ryder wanted to sleep. It was fun to see their personalities, even that early! It’s always such an honor to photograph my clients’ milestones after the wedding. Being a part of these moments is priceless and it means the world to me.

It was an absolute joy to capture this beautiful new family of four and provide them with memories of this sweet season of life.
