Alyssa and Toby had their gorgeous, romantic wedding at The Vinoy in downtown St. Petersburg on the most beautiful Florida day! We took full advantage of the Southern warmth and sun with an outdoor ceremony and reception under the stars. Alyssa and Toby live in Tampa but visit St Pete often, as they love the vibe and area so much. The Vinoy provided everything they wanted in a wedding venue while also allowing them to share the atmosphere St. Pete offers with their guest while providing a great vacation and experience.

The sweet couple both moved to Tampa from small beach towns to go to the University of Tampa. However, they didn’t meet one another until after college and didn’t start dating until a few years after that. Call it fate or good timing, but I love that these two had to travel south before they ever met each other.

Romantic Wedding at The Vinoy

The Vinoy became their top choice for their wedding because it features an Old Florida charm along with a fantastic view of the water and city skyline. The ceremony took place in the venue’s romantic tea garden. It is an intimate ceremony space with an enchanting water fountain and beautiful Florida greenery surrounding. Their wedding portraits by the fountain are some of my favorites as they capture their elegant and timeless wedding day vision beautifully. Their adorable pup Ellie was also a part of the day, and was such a sweet addition to the wedding party.

After the wedding ceremony, the party shifted to The Vinoy’s other outdoor event space, the Esplanade Lawn. This gorgeous space provides views of both the Tampa Bay and the city skyline. We made sure to take advantage of the waterfront setting for their newlywed photos. Just as the sun was setting off in the horizon we walked along the bay. They took in the view and savored this quiet moment with each other while I captured the most gorgeous bride and groom portraits.

As we made our way back to the celebration, guests were already enjoying the delicious oyster bar. Being a creative herself, Alyssa wanted to ensure all the details of the day encapsulated who they are as individuals and who they are as a couple. Alyssa handmade all of the name cards out of oyster shells that they have either eaten or found on the beach in Toby’s hometown in Connecticut. The night continued with the newlyweds and their guests celebrating and dancing under the stars and twinkling stringed lights as the sun set. It was a one of a kind, sweet, romantic, Florida wedding and I couldn’t be more excited for Alyssa and Toby’s (and their pup Ellie!) future together!
