I want to create imagery in moments that feel like you. With the utmost intention in everything I do, this experience should feel like yours.

Pour a glass of wine and stay a while, won't you?

i'm KÉra

Sometimes you meet a couple and you know instantly that they are 100% a perfect match. That is exactly how I felt when I met Emily and Jonathan for their St. Petersburg, Florida beach engagement session at Fort De Soto State Park. Their love and connection was simply infectious. I loved seeing them smile at one another as they got close. Jonathan revealed that he loves her smile and laugh and Emily loves his sense of humor, which just goes to show how great these two are together. Everything about them was genuine and kind.

How They Met

During their college years, Emily attended a formal event for a fraternity with a friend, which happened to be Jonathan’s fraternity. Towards the end of the night they sat together on the bus ride back to campus. From there, they started hanging out almost every day until holiday break. Their relationship continued to grow and eventually Jonathan popped the question at a local conservatory in Rochester, NY where they were both living at the time. He had Emily’s friends convince her to go to the conservatory to take pictures for fun with all the beautiful plants. Then he surprised her in the middle of their little photoshoot, all dressed up. When he first entered, Emily’s back was to the entrance so she didn’t see him. This allowed Jonathan to sneak in and get down on one knee so when she turned around he was there!

St. Petersburg, Florida Beach Engagement

While they lived in New York at the time of their engagement session, their dream was to start their lives together in Sarasota, Florida. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor that dream than to create imagery on the sands and waters of Fort De Soto Park, which is only 45 minutes north of Sarasota.

We started their session just after the sunrise and were greeted with the most beautiful sunshine. The beach was empty. It was so nice to have it to ourselves as we were able to walk along the beach and truly savor the moment. It doesn’t get much better than the beach at sunrise. The natural beauty of the coast provided a beautiful backdrop as their laughter floated through the ocean air, making it a memorable engagement session. Everytime I look at their pictures and see their smiles, it makes me smile. I just love seeing my couples so genuinely happy.
