Romantic Selby Gardens Wedding in Sarasota | Jen and Chris
I had the joy of capturing Jen and Chris’s romantic Selby Gardens Wedding in sunny Sarasota, Florida. It was a stunning fall day, perfect for their outdoor ceremony. While Jen and Chris live in Tampa, they chose Sarasota for the beautiful garden and water views. The Selby Botanical Gardens is full of gorgeous landscapes and breathtaking bay views. This beautiful and tranquil environment paired perfectly with Jen’s vision of a romantic garden wedding by the water.
The couple readied at the Westin Sarasota. Once ready, I captured a few portraits of the bride and groom separately in the courtyard before heading to their first look at their venue, Selby Gardens. Their first look took place under one of the oldest banyan trees — It was absolutely stunning! The size of the roots and the grandeur of the tree left me awestruck. Jen and Chris shared private vows, savoring the moment together. We took a few couple portraits under the tree as well. The leaves were glowing in this beautiful shade of green creating an enchanting backdrop. Florida greens are my favorite, truly nothing else compares.
Romantic Selby Gardens Wedding
Their romantic garden wedding ceremony took place outdoors under this amazing oak tree that sat next to the bay allowing glimpses of the water beyond the tree. Soft florals of white and pink hues, balanced with ample greenery, decorated the ceremony space. The bridesmaids each wore dresses in their chosen style and shade of pink. Jen and Chris exchanged vows as the sun was setting in the horizon over the water – it was gorgeous.
Once Chris and Jen were officially husband and wife, the wedding guests made their way to the outdoor cocktail area while the newlyweds and I snuck off to capture golden hour portraits. Their wedding photos by the bay were so dreamy, featuring sailboats in the background and the romantic glow of the sun. It was the perfect moment as the new Mr. and Mrs. shared a champagne toast to celebrate as they enjoyed the bay views together.
