All Things Wine and Photography
As many of you know, my love for wine runs deep. As a Level 2 Sommelier, I’m always thrilled to talk about wine—whether it’s pairing the perfect glass with a meal, or selecting the right variety for a special event or wedding toast. On the podcast, we chatted about how wine has played a role in both my personal life growing up and my career. We even swapped tips and stories about wine, which was so much fun. This conversation also led us to talk about weddings and how I’d love to see a wedding Sommelier become a thing of the future, as I know the power of pairing the right wines with your dining menu! It can completely elevate the entire meal experience and create an unforgettable wedding evening for guests.
Of course, photography was a huge topic of conversation! We dove into my journey as a photographer and how it has shaped my life, how my business got started 12 years ago, and the beautiful experiences that have come from capturing life’s most cherished memories. We also discussed some of my favorite moments behind the camera and how I work to capture those genuine, heartfelt moments that tell a couple’s love story. I’ve always loved good storytelling and photo journalism. Telling stories through my photography is something I never take for granted – it brings me so much joy to share with others.
Wedding Trends
We couldn’t resist talking about the latest wedding trends. From film photography to old wedding traditions fading while others are resurfacing, we talked about how today’s couples are making their big day unique and personal. One of my favorite current wedding trends is the appearance of more traditional wedding cakes, like those your grandparents might have had. I also love that big bows are showing up more and more. Additionally, couples are becoming more intentional with their wedding. They are choosing food and drinks that have a meaning, whether it is a dish or drink from a first date, or just something that the couple enjoys, like smoked BBQ, couples are defining their day with what they want, and not what they think they should have or tradition tells them – which is exactly how it should be!
