There’s truly something special about seeing a love story come full circle. A few years ago, I had the privilege of capturing Julia and Mark’s elopement at the Cool Springs House after they spent months traveling across the country in their van. Fast forward two years, and here we are again — but now, with a new addition to their family: their sweet little boy, Max.
For this session, Julia and Mark rented The Holmstead Studio in Knoxville, TN, which is nestled on a beautiful piece of land where we had a gorgeous view of the sunset. This studio was the perfect location to capture their sweet family memories. The French doors of The Holmstead Studio were one of my favorite details. I loved capturing the three of them walking through doors and out towards the tall grass.
Getting to see Julia and Mark as parents to little Max was a heartwarming experience. Max is such a cutie, full of curiosity and energy. He was also such a trooper throughout the shoot. The best part was just letting him be a kid and explore the area. I especially loved seeing him play in the fallen leaves scattered around the grassy area near the studio. There’s something so sweet and pure about a child’s fascination with the simplest things. The fall colors and the setting sun in the background as we explored outside was an added bonus.
Photographing Julia and Mark again, now as parents, meant so much to me. I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to capture this new chapter of parenthood for them. Sessions like these remind me of why I do what I do — to provide families memories of life’s most important moments – the candid and beautiful moments of love, growth, and family.
