Cheekwood Estate and Gardens in Nashville, TN is an absolute gem of a wedding venue. The historic charm, natural beauty at every turn, and stunning views of the Tennessee hills are just a few of the many reasons this is a premier, outdoor wedding venue in Nashville. It is easy to see why Lauren and Thayer fell in love with this location. Their intimate wedding at Cheekwood Estate was a dream and captured everything they hoped for on their wedding day.

These high school sweethearts are originally from Texas, but for the past 6 years have called Nashville their home. Their September wedding day was a bit overcast. However, we were still able to capture tons of beautiful imagery around the estate and gardens. Lauren and Thayer’s laidback attitude created a positive and calm atmosphere leading to a relaxed wedding day. There was no stress, just joy and the savoring of each moment. You could tell by Lauren’s beautiful, never-ending smile that she was just happy to be there and getting to marry the love of her life. Throughout the day, I often caught Lauren with happy tears in her eyes. In fact, one of my favorite images is Lauren with a tissue catching a tear with a smile on her face during family formals.

Lauren was a stunning bride. She wanted a very timeless feel to their wedding day. Both Lauren’s style and the venue, lent itself to the classic vibe they wanted. Lauren wore her hair slicked back with a little wave, which reminded me of a very chic 1950’s style. Her bridal bouquet was also reminiscent of a romantic, vintage aesthetic with pale pink and orange flowers.

Their intimate wedding ceremony took place under the Wisteria Arbor at Cheekwood, providing a beautiful view of the hillside beyond. They exchanged vows with the love and support of those closest to them watching. After the wedding ceremony, guests went on to enjoy cocktails on the grounds to the sound of stringed instruments. Meanwhile, Lauren and Thayer explored all the beauty Cheekwood had to offer for their wedding portraits.

The newlyweds then gathered with their guests and shared an intimate dinner. The tables were elegantly decorated with low floral arrangements, white candles, and mauve napkins. The night continued, dissolving into laughter and shared smiles, as the newlyweds listened to speeches, held meaningful conversations, and soaked in every moment with each other and their loved ones.
