I want to create imagery in moments that feel like you. With the utmost intention in everything I do, this experience should feel like yours.

Pour a glass of wine and stay a while, won't you?

Engagement sessions are always special, and Cara and Michael’s downtown Nashville fall engagement session was particularly memorable. Despite the overcast skies, the warm fall air and Cara and Michael’s love for each other brought so much light to the day. The stunning backdrop of the Tennessee State Capitol and the elegant architecture of the Nashville Public Library was just the icing on the cake.

Downtown Nashville Fall Engagement Session

Walking around downtown Nashville with these two and getting to know them was such a joy. They are one of those couples that instantly make you smile—adorably quirky in their own way and completely smitten with one another. Their laughter and connection made it so easy to capture beautiful, authentic moments that truly reflected them.

For their engagement session, Cara and Michael chose some of Nashville’s most iconic and elegant locations. Both the Tennessee State Capitol and the Nashville Public Library provided the perfect mix of timeless architecture and romantic backdrops. The Capitol grounds, with its historic charm and scenic views, created a stunning setting for Cara and Michael’s portraits. The fall leaves scattered across the ground added the perfect touch of seasonal beauty.

At the Nashville Public Library, the grandeur of the space paired beautifully with their love story. The library’s classic architecture, marble columns, and intricate details added to the timeless feel of their session.

High School Sweethearts Reunited

Cara and Michael’s story began in their freshman year of high school. What started as a close friendship blossomed into a romance during sophomore year, and they officially started dating on Valentine’s Day. However, they hit a bump during their junior year and decided to go their separate ways.

Thankfully, that wasn’t the end of their story. During their senior year of high school, they became friends again and continued to stay close friends throughout college while Michael was at Auburn and Cara at Samford.

Fast forward to their senior year of college, and Michael once again asked Cara to be his girlfriend. This time the timing was perfect and they’ve been inseparable ever since! Their story is a beautiful reminder of how love can take its time, weaving its way through the ups and downs of life to bring two people together at the right moment.

The Proposal

Michael’s proposal was just as sweet as their love story. He planned a day that took Cara to all the places that hold special meaning in their relationship.

They started at Brentwood Academy, the school where they first met and where Cara now teaches. Michael left flowers and a sweet note in her classroom. Next, they stopped by Chick-fil-A, a nod to the spot where Michael asked Cara to be his girlfriend during their senior year of college. Afterward, they spent time at Harlinsdale Farms, where they talked, prayed, and read scripture together.

The final stop? Ravenswood Mansion, where Michael got down on one knee and asked Cara to be his forever. To top it all off, they ended the day surrounded by family and friends who were waiting to celebrate their engagement. It was truly a day filled with love, thoughtfulness, and joy.

Cara and Michael, thank you for letting me capture your engagement session. It was such a joy to get to know you both and see your love for one another.
