I want to create imagery in moments that feel like you. With the utmost intention in everything I do, this experience should feel like yours.

Pour a glass of wine and stay a while, won't you?

i'm KÉra

As the fall leaves fell to the ground and the cold air of winter began to rush in, I had the pleasure of capturing Hannah and Teddy’s fall engagement session. Despite the 30-degree weather, these two were absolute troopers. You would never know it was freezing outside by looking at their images. Hannah and Teddy’s love is the kind that radiates warmth. Their playful and cuddly nature was perfect for this cold weather engagement session.

The couple and I walked around the Percy Warner Steps and the surrounding preserved park area. While there weren’t many leaves left on the trees, fall colors blanketed the ground creating a beautiful backdrop. Staying moving and walking around helped keep us warm, but we also made sure to pause at a few beautiful spots so they could sit and snuggle up close.

Hannah and Teddy did a wonderful job selecting their outfits. The colors and their clothing style were perfect for this end-of-fall session. Hannah’s choice of knee-high cowgirl boots was a nod to Nashville’s iconic style, and they set the tone for the shoot. After all, it’s not a Nashville shoot without boots.

Tips for Planning a Cold Weather Engagement Session

Planning an engagement session in the colder months of fall and winter can be a great experience with the right preparation. Hannah and Teddy were prepared for the weather, which made this session enjoyable and successful. Here are a few tips to help you plan and make the most of your fall or winter engagement session.

1. Wear Layers

Layering is key to staying warm without sacrificing style. Think cozy sweaters, chic scarves or hats, and stylish jackets. In addition to keeping you warm, layers can add texture to your photos as well.

2. Wear Closed-Toe Shoes

While Hannah’s cowgirl boots were perfect, any stylish closed-toe shoe will help keep your feet warm and comfortable.

3. Bring Hand Warmers

Be sure to slip some hand warmers into your pockets for a quick warm-up during breaks. This can make a big difference in keeping you comfortable. Trust me, you will thank me later!

4. Consider Certain Props

I will admit, I’m usually not one for props. However, a cozy blanket or a hot coffee can be both functional and a great addition to a cold weather engagement session.

5. Get Close and Cozy

Use the chilly weather as an excuse to snuggle up! Extra cuddling not only keeps you warm but also creates natural, intimate moments that look beautiful on camera.

I love how snuggly Hannah and Teddy were throughout their session, creating beautiful candid moments. Watching them cuddle up, share smiles, and enjoy each other’s company was such a joy to capture.
