I want to create imagery in moments that feel like you. With the utmost intention in everything I do, this experience should feel like yours.

Pour a glass of wine and stay a while, won't you?

i'm KÉra

To start off their marriage, Cara said, “you’re my husband!! LET’S GOOOO!!” and honestly, I can’t accept anything less than this energy on wedding days! I just loved this couple and seeing them together on their wedding day. They were so joyful and over-the-moon happy to be married, and it just made capturing their Venue at Birchwood Wedding all the more memorable. What made their wedding day even more special is that Cara and Michael chose to have their beautiful summer wedding the day after the Fourth of July. We were blessed with the most perfect summer weather after a series of rainy days.

Venue At Birchwood Wedding Ceremony

Cara was initially attracted to the venue’s chapel, as their christian beliefs are very important to them. The stunning stone building with large, beautiful windows allowed the natural light to pour in for the ceremony.  The floral designer really went all out with the ceremony design, it looked like they were floating in flowers. Soft pink and white flowers intertwined with greenery came together to create the floral arch.

Romantic and Timeless Wedding Details

Their entire day was filled with timeless and romantic touches. The soft color palette of white, blush, and subtle pops of gold along with greenery in florals all came together for a truly gorgeous southern wedding day. The natural setting of the venue as well as the white walls and wooden beams  inside all complemented the color palette flawlessly.

Inside Cara had a custom escort wall with thank you notes for every guest! This was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. As each guest reached for the pink envelope with their name and table number written in gold, they found a sweet thank you note inside, truly making a lasting impact.

I also loved that they chose to have an alcohol free event, and instead had a custom soda station along with a taco and pizza food truck and yard games. It felt like an elevated and classy summer BBQ. Not to mention, it was so fun! Guests had a ball playing everything from ping pong to corn hole and even mini golf. Everyone had the best time laughing as they played games and made many memories.

How They Met

Cara and Michael’s story began all the way back in high school, when Michael first asked Cara to be his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day their freshman year. They dated for a while before parting ways, but God had bigger plans for their story. Over the years, their friendship endured, their faith deepened, and eventually, they found their way back to each other. By their senior year of college, Michael asked Cara to be his girlfriend again, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Proposal

Michael’s proposal was equally thoughtful and meaningful. He led Cara on a journey through some of their most special memories! He took her to several locations around Brentwood and Franklin that held meaning to them. They started at the classroom where Cara teaches, Brentwood Academy, as that is the same school where they first met in high school. Next, they went to Chick-fil-A, a place Cara not only loves, but also because that is where he first asked her to be his girlfriend during college. Their next stop was Harlinsdale Farms where they talked, prayed and read scripture together before heading to their last stop,  Ravenswood Mansion. Here he popped the question, which she of course said “Yes!” They came home to family and friends waiting to surprise them afterward, making it a day they will never forget.

From start to finish, Cara and Michael’s wedding day was a reflection of their personalities and their love for each other and for God. It was elegant, joyful, and timeless. Above all, it was a celebration not just of a marriage, but of a love story that has been years in the making.

Cara and Michael, thank you for letting me capture your incredible Venue at the Birchwood wedding day. Your energy, your love, and your faith are inspiring! Congratulations and cheers on your next chapter together.
