This modern and whimsical Cedarmont Farm wedding editorial seamlessly blended the old with the new thanks to the efforts and collaboration of the talented group of wedding professionals. The end result was a captivating styled wedding featuring exquisite details and a touch of modern flair, set against the backdrop of a historic, equestrian barn at Cedarmont Farm.
Cedarmont Farm is an all-inclusive wedding venue located 30 minutes outside of Nashville in Franklin, TN. This hidden gem features a 100-year old horse barn that has been transformed into a modern event space. The venue still maintains its historic charm and character with the original, white oak walls and wooden beams. The property also features floor to ceiling windows for ample natural light, as well as a historic home with a beautiful library and grand piano, providing an elegant backdrop for bride and groom portraits.
Modern Wedding Details at a Historic Wedding Venue
Every element of this styled wedding shoot was carefully curated with intention. From the time of year, to the color palette and guest experience, the goal was to create a vision that exuded freshness, femininity, and luxury to inspire future couples planning a wedding on a property with historic elements.
The design, flawlessly executed by Brittany at Cedarmont Farm, combined historic features with bright and modern design elements. She wanted the space to feel fresh, fun and whimsical by incorporating a lot of movement and modern textures into her design, while also keeping it light and airy.
To achieve this, she infused the space with colors of magenta and an ombre of bright pinks and peaches, drawing inspiration from the Pantone color of the year, magenta. Bringing this color palette to life were the invitations by River & Bridge, the textured, magenta velvet napkins from Southern Events, and the cascading, floral centerpieces from Larson Floral Co. Taper blush candles added soft, romantic lighting, while white, earthen plates from Southern Events added a perfect contrast to the textured magenta velvet napkins.
Bridal Fashion
The bride wore a simple, classic, and clean bridal gown from Lavender Park Bridal. Her gown was accentuated by a flowing cape layer adorned with pearls and a ceremonial veil. For the reception, she changed into a second outfit – a fitted midi dress with an open back, topped with a bow. Delicate feathers on the dress’s hem perfectly matched her bold magenta pumps, adding a playful touch to her look.
Cedarmont Farm Wedding
For the ceremony, the couple stood before a whitewashed, life-sized picture frame set against the lush green landscape just behind the historic event barn. Bright florals adorned the frame and lined the aisle, adding the perfect pop of color to the aisle.
The guest experience was also crucial in this design. For Cocktail hour on the terrace, a pink, rosebud champagne tower allowed guests to sip bubbly while enjoying the sunshine and sweeping views of the property. Cascading greenery hung over the bar and more movement-driven floral arrangements continued the modern and fun vibe.
Wedding Reception Details
Before dinner, pre-set limoncello palette cleansers greeted each guest as they took their seats. A delicious plated dinner by Dream Events & Catering followed. Crawling florals up the front of the reception barn complemented its historic structure while adding a colorful, contemporary element. Then, as guests entered the reception barn, large cascading drapery installs from Blue Nova Designs framed the windows, transforming the space and creating a stunning contrast with the original wooden beams. The wedding cake by Katelin Hayes Desserts was a whimsical centerpiece with bright florals practically growing out of it.
This modern and whimsical wedding editorial at the historic, equestrian barn is a testament to the beauty of blending the past with the present. With vibrant colors, luxurious details, and a nod to timeless traditions, this editorial serves as an inspiration for couples seeking a fresh and elegant wedding with a touch of whimsy.
