Julia and Tyler’s classic engagement session was absolutely stunning as I photographed them at the height of spring. Everything was so green around Cheekwood Gardens & Estate! The two of them have a beautiful, delicate love. They are soft with each other and know how to make each other laugh, which was perfect for capturing candid moments of the pair. Both were relaxed and easy going, completely leaning into the photoshoot process. I love that they embraced everything and truly had fun together — you can see how beautiful the images turn out when a couple leans in.

Their Story

The couple met at Auburn through mutual friends their senior year of college. After dating for some time, Tyler knew it was time to pop the question. He waited for the perfect moment, when they were on a romantic trip to Hawaii in October of 2023. Before heading to a nice dinner, they went to a beach to enjoy the sunset. The beach they went to was called the Secret Beach of Ko Olina on Oahu. Upon arriving they saw a seal on the beach! Julia was so excited at this encounter and was too busy taking photos of the seal to realize Tyler was getting ready to propose. Once she turned and realized what was happening, she of course said “Yes!”

In Their Own Words

These two are so sweet together and hearing their answers about what they love most about each other was incredibly heartwarming.

Julia loves Tyler’s kind heart and how much he cares about others, willingly dropping anything to help his friends or family.

Tyler, couldn’t just name one thing about Julia he loves; instead, he listed several, stating
“I love how she supports me and us as a couple in everything we do. She’s the best teammate in life anyone could ever ask for.”

He went on to say how much he loves Julia’s deep compassion, sense of humor, and strong values of family, religion, and friendship. In closing, he said that Julia “never fails to put a smile on my face. She has a sense of humor that I’ve never met anyone else with – she doesn’t even know she’s funny and she will have me laughing so hard my stomach hurts. She’s passionate about work and has an amazing drive to succeed and be happy in life. She has the ability to be the life of the party and also enjoy a quiet night inside. Her love never falters.”

Classic Engagement Session

As Julia and Tyler plan for their big day, it was nice to pause and take this time to celebrate them and their love for one another during their engagement session at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens. Their timeless style was highlighted by their chosen outfits with Julia in a beautiful white dress featuring long sleeves detailed in lace and matching lace on the hem of her knee-length dress. Tyler matched her classic look in a navy blue suit and tan shoes. The lush greenery of the gardens created the perfect backdrop for their engagement portraits. It was such a joy to capture these heartfelt moments between this beautiful couple. Congratulations, Julia and Tyler!
