For Autumn and Austin, Chattanooga, TN has always held a special place in their hearts as it’s the city where they first met and fell in love. This made it the perfect backdrop for their intimate Chattanooga elopement. I had the honor of capturing their beautiful day, a blend of classic and modern touches — ideal for a couple with a classic and modern type of love.
To start their day, Autumn and Austin got ready at the historic Read House Hotel, a symbol of Jazz-Era luxury and southern hospitality. Opened in 1872, the hotel has retains much of its original charm, including gold-trimmed mirrors and blue walls. Surrounded by elegance and history, the couple prepared for their special day.
The atmosphere was heavy with anticipation and joy as Autumn and Austin readied themselves for their elopement. Autumn looked stunning in her chic and elegant slight, off-shoulder gown, featuring a cinched gold waist. Similarly, Austin exuded timeless charm in his classic black tux. Once ready, we captured wedding portraits in different areas of the hotel. However, the old fashioned telephone booths might be my favorite as they provided a fun, yet vintage setting.
Afterwards, we headed to the the Hunter Museum of American Art for their intimate ceremony. Autumn and Austin chose to elope on a Tuesday afternoon at the Chattanooga pedestrian bridge. The views from the bridge overlooking the Tennessee River provided a breathtaking backdrop for their photos. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds toasted with a glass of champagne. Both were beaming as they enjoyed the moment. Seeing them together, so happy and in love was heartwarming.
The intimate setting of their elopement allowed for genuine, heartfelt moments that truly reflected them. One of the most important aspects of an elopement is that it focuses entirely on the couple. Since there are fewer distractions and guests, the day is truly about the love and commitment being celebrated. As a result, the couple can be fully present and savor each and every moment.
It was an incredible honor to be part of Autumn and Austin’s special day. I love capturing these special wedding day memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
